CT Health Insurance Exchange "Healthy Chat"
February 28, 20135:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, 275 Research Parkway, Meriden CT 06450

We’re at a crossroads on the road to health reform. The goal of the state's new health insurance marketplace is to offer quality health coverage we can afford. But what if it doesn't? On Thursday in Meriden, we can help it achieve that goal and take a bite out of the health crisis.

Access Health CT (the new name of CT's Health Exchange) is holding community forums to explain how it works, answer questions, and gather input.

"Healthy Chat" Thursday, February 28, 5:30-7:00 pm.

Four Points Sheraton, 275 Research Parkway, Meriden

Access Health CT is a critical part of federal health reform. It's planned as a fair marketplace, where we can easily compare insurance plans, get sliding scale subsidies, and choose coverage that meets our health needs and fits our budgets. It's supposed to be the path to health care for most of the 350,000 people and small businesses in our state without coverage, and for tens of thousands more who struggle to pay high premiums, deductibles and co-pays for coverage that often falls short.

But will Access Health CT actually offer quality affordable insurance? Will it negotiate on our behalf to get the best deal? Or will the insurance it offers be so expensive that thousands will be shut out? Lack of insurance is a leading cause of poor health and personal bankruptcies, and it costs all of us in higher premiums and taxes.

Will YOU be able to afford insurance from Access Health CT? Use this online calculator to find out. If it's more than you can afford, Access Health CT needs to know! (hint: after you get the monthly "Premium Cost to Family," multiply by 12 for your annual cost, and add to the "Annual Out-of-Pocket" for your total).

Please join us Thursday evening, Mark. Tell Access Health CT: We’re counting on you for quality affordable health care for everyone.

An article on recent decisions by Access Health CT is here.

For more information or to tell us you'll be there, send a note to info@healthcareforevery1.org.

See you there!
