16th Annual Celebration Dinner

United Action will be holding its 16th Annual Justice Celebration Dinner on Wednesday, June 5th 2024 at Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek, 55 East Kings Highway, Chester. Doors will open at 6:30 pm and the program will begin at 7:00 pm.
Once again, we will be sponsoring our homemade, ethnic, pot luck menu for dinner, and we will be honoring a group and an individual for their social justice work and have a keynote speaker to highlight the program. For the second year we have decided to make admission free. This is our way of saying thanks to all the people who have supported UACT over the years and worked tirelessly for social justice causes.
Our theme this year will be “Towards Liberty and Justice for All”. We will be honoring Waterford RISE, a group of Waterford residents that have joined to celebrate, collaborate, and work toward a more just, equitable, and welcoming community and also Constanza Segovia, the director of the Hartford Deportation Defense team and an activist for economic justice.
Our keynote speaker will be Reverend Tony Lorenzen of the Unitarian-Universalist Church of Meriden. Rev. Lorenzen is a dynamic speaker and has served as minister to various congregations in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Texas. He has a strong background in divinity and theology and participates in ministries involving church leadership, pulpit preaching and spiritual direction. UACT is honored to have Rev. Lorenzen as our guest speaker.
